MY HOME TOWN ISTANBUL Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey and one of the most special cities in the world. It connects Europe and Asia and has a long and rich history. For centuries, it was part of the Roman Empire and later the Byzantine Empire. In 1453, Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror captured the city, and it became the capital of the Ottoman Empire. I was born in Istanbul, so it is my hometown. I grew up in Kartal, which is a beautiful district on the Asian side of the city. There are many amazing places to visit in Istanbul. My Summer Vacation: A Funny Adventure This summer vacation was amazing, but also a little crazy! First, I spent a lot of time at the beach with my family. The weather was perfect, and I loved swimming in the sea. But one day, something funny happened. While I was sleeping on the sand, my little brother decided to bury my legs! When I woke up, I couldn't move! Everyone was laughing, and I had to dig myself out for 10 minutes. Later, we went to a big amusement park. I was excited to ride the roller coaster, but right before, I ate a huge ice cream. Big mistake! After the ride, I felt so sick that I had to sit down for a while. My family had fun, but I was just trying not to throw up! I also tried skateboarding for the first time. It was really hard! I fell so many times that my knees were covered in bruises.
