MY HOME TOWN                                                      ISTANBUL

Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey and one of the most special cities in the world. It connects Europe and Asia and has a long and rich history. For centuries, it was part of the Roman Empire and later the Byzantine Empire. In 1453, Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror captured the city, and it became the capital of the Ottoman Empire.

I was born in Istanbul, so it is my hometown. I grew up in Kartal, which is a beautiful district on the Asian side of the city. There are many amazing places to visit in Istanbul. I think Topkapi Palace is the best. It was the home of Ottoman sultans, and it has so many beautiful and historical rooms. The Maiden’s Tower is another favorite of mine. It is in the middle of the Bosphorus, and it looks magical, especially at sunset. I also love Galata Tower because the view from the top is breathtaking.

The Grand Bazaar is one of the oldest markets in the world. It is full of shops where you can find handmade items, jewelry, and souvenirs. Taksim Square is always lively and feels like the heart of the city. Istanbul has history, beauty, and energy, and I think everyone should visit this wonderful city at least once.
